Overview
About Pakarab Fertilizers
Pakarab Fertilizers Limited was incorporated on November 12, 1973 by a joint venture between the Government of Pakistan and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company Limited (ADNOC). It was privatized on July 14, 2005 under the privatization policy of Government of Pakistan. It was acquired by a consortium of Fatima Group and Arif Habib Group.

Contributions to the Complex
Fatima Group has undertaken extensive modernization at Pakarab Fertilizers Limited and, new and improved processes have been introduced to maximize the output while minimizing the negative impacts on the environment. Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) plant was the first project of its kind in Pakistan by Fatima Group for the abatement of NOX emissions from the stack gases of Nitric Acid plant. The efforts and investments for the reduction of green-house gases show Fatima Group’s commitment towards a cleaner and healthier environment for future generations of Pakistan.

Our Products
Sarsabz Nitrophos (NP) is a prilled fertilizer in which each grain has equal amounts of Phosphorus (P) 20% and Nitrogen (N) 22%. In addition to this, NP being a highly acidic product with a pH of 3.5, is the most suitable fertilizer for soils that have a high pH and are alkaline in nature.
Efficient and effective supply of necessary nutrients to the plants with minimal losses is of significant importance and should be adhered to for the healthy growth of the crop. Due to the exclusive properties of nitrogen, the supply of nitrogen has a direct impact on crop development and is durable for a longer time. Product 26% N (Dual Nitrogen) with 13% Nitrate and 13% Ammoniacal other than Nitrogen, provides Sarsabz CAN 5 additional elements that are mandatory for crop growth and development: Potassium – 0.9% Calcium – 10% Magnesium – 0.05% Sulfur – 0.4% Copper – 0.001%.
Urea is used extensively within the agriculture sector as an animal feed additive and fertilizer which inevitably results in its production to be larger in volume compared to any other fertilizers available in the country. Product Composition Sarsabz Urea – 46% Nitrogen.

Our systems intend to be ample, safe and robust to achieve high standards of HSE. We follow the world class system of DuPont’s Model of Process Safety Management (PSM) which is designed to comply with US OSHA Process Safety Management (29 CFR 1910.119) requirements. We gauge our safety performance through a set of leading and lagging indicators, benchmarked with International standards such as API-754.

CAER Community Awareness and Emergency Response
Pakarab Fertilizers Limited has developed a very detailed procedure for emergency handling based on DuPont guidelines. Effective systems and controls are in place to prevent any emergency. To ensure the adequacy and preparedness of fire and safety arrangements at site, weekly and quarterly mock drills are conducted with involvement of Mukhtar A. Sheikh Hospital, Rescue 1122 and neighboring communities.
